Why am I not good enough for anyone?

We are NOT aware of our self-worth. I struggled with this issue a lot during my tween, teen and adult years. I still encounter self-worth issues with myself but I am able to put myself back to track. The “I am not enough” belief is deeply rooted in humanity and for this reason, I will devote a couple of posts to shed some light on this belief.

What If you realize, that just who you are, where you are that there was nothing you should be. There was nothing you needed to do. There was nowhere you should go, but just who you are was Enough. I’m sure that this idea sounds so much like an alien notion.

However, it is true. There’s nothing you need to do to be better than you are, in other words, just who you are is enough for the rest of your life.

The question is: Well if that’s true then why is it that I’m stuck? Why am I not good enough for anyone?

People get stuck because they believe in the events and drama of their life. From day one, we’re taught what fear should be like, what we should be afraid of what we have to do to be as good as, or better than anyone. We are taught in a way or another that just who we are, is not sufficient is NOT enough.

Were we born in sin?

There are lots of people on this planet that believe we’re actually born in sin. I can’t imagine that some of these doctrines target children with such falsehood information. This is unbelievable. Then, we wonder why the world is going mad!

What kind of God/ divine would make a little baby a sinful expression? Most of these fears which are fed into us are constantly reminded through the media from publications, television to music that we’re not quite enough and that if we just have this or that we will be better.

And we begin to finally believe it. If we don’t have enough money as the people next door, then we’re not as good as them. If people are driving better cars than us, then we have to hurry and save or rather find a way to be like them or simply we are an epic failure. We have the notion of constantly upgrading things from TV, phones, cars, and houses.

Are you better than others if you own the latest phone model?

Children and young adults are covertly taught that some children and youngsters have more than others. Therefore, they are someone to look up to. You can only be good as them if only you do or act like them. This opens the door to comparison with each other. Little we did know if we are not authentic and compare ourselves to others is the way to falsehood and disappointment. Comparison leads to failure.

The truth is just who you are is enough. Understand that you definitely need to have dreams and goals, ideas and things that you would like to bring into your life. The problem is that those things by any mean do not ever justify who you are.

What happened to your aspirations?

We come to this world with lots of dreams and aspirations. These dreams are naive and pure. We find out that there are other programs that interfere & judges us on how to be and that our aspirations are not realistic because we come from a different country or have a different religion. These programs directly or indirectly tell us that we are not enough. These programs shatter our hope to be who we long to be. The programs burry our self-worth.

Let me give an example from daily life. Imagine Robert works for a company and one day his superiors thought of evaluating his performance. The company does so and they find out that Robert is underperforming. Meanwhile, Robert sweats things out since he is waiting for the results of the evaluation. He finds out that he was underperforming and the result put him down.

The point is the evaluation of others and their thoughts of you about your job performance has nothing to do with the real you. The problem becomes that Robert begins to confuse his essence with Robert the worker who lacks experience of something at his job which gives power to his superiors to dictate things to him on how he should be. Then, Robert begins to think that he isn’t enough and that because of his miserable background, experience and luck.

It doesn’t matter what others think of you at your job. If someone gives you a negative review, make it not your problem. It’s their problem to see you that way and that can be true.

When you realize you are enough, you begin to take the review of the evaluation at the job context but not the being of who you are. Then, you think of ways of striving to develop yourself without eating yourself from the inside because you found something helpful in the evaluation and you think you could learn from it.

However, if you buy into the negative part of the review, you have lost the value of the job.

You shouldn’t base your value according to others’ opinions. I believe that we come to this planet to experience, to live, share and build a journey of co-creation of life but not work for fifty hours a week and rate ourselves and others according to education, clothes, cars, phones, and houses. This is an insane monster industrialized program we created and believed in for a long time and isn’t time to stop it?

Isn’t the time to wake up from this tyranny and falsehood?

Isn’t it time to stand up hand in hand, accept our differences, diversities, qualities and live on this Earth for the sake of compassion and experience?

Isn’t the time to develop spiritually?

There’s more to living than the fifty weekly hours at work (Especially if you loathe it)! There’s always more to go and strive for. I believe that we can grow exponentially when we intend & decide to support each other for the highest good of humanity and of all concerned. And remember that this planet is on its way to growing and if you feel that you are alone and not enough, you are not the only one because I was there.

The programming on this planet still gets me down and drags me with it. I found my way through it. I read many books about the people who had been there. I listened to tens of audiobooks. I learned to stay still and meditate. I worked on myself to change and develop my habits. I saw the light, my friend. It is there and will be waiting for you.

I urge you to ask the divine, the universe or whatever you believe in to dwell NOW on you. Take ten deep breaths, close your eyes and ask it. Ignore what your mind tells you about yourself and this post.

Ask for its mercy, help, and wisdom. Ask for its guidance. Do not overthink my words just do it and trust that the unseen will back you up. It will back you up because it is YOU because YOU ARE ENOUGH FOR EVERYONE!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post. I look forward to hearing your questions, recommendations & suggestions. May the light speed to you.
